De Groene Amsterdammer publishes Voets’ essay on the intellectual undermining of women, based on one year of touring FOR REAL, including over 150 live interview.

Andrea Voets was named ISPA-fellow of the Dutch Fund for the Performing Arts and will attend the New York conference in 2025, 2026 and 2027. In 2025, she got selected to pitch the production FOR REAL.

Spring 2024

Andrea Voets was interviewed on FOR REAL for newspaper Parool. Volkskrant wrote this story on the rehearsal process, and on the 27th of March 2024, Andrea was a guest at the leading radioshow for the arts in the Netherlands: Nooit Meer Slapen.

WOMEX selected a panel-talk on intellectual undermining of women in music and of musicians in society, to be part of its 2023 edition. The panel is proposed and designed by Andrea Voets and Martyna van Nieuwland (MusicMeeting).

Andrea Voets got selected to join the Buro Stedelijk of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

The world-famous American podcast-maker Avery Trufelman (a.o. Articles of Interest, 99% Invisible, the Cut) listed Millennial History as one of her favourite/weirdest podcasts of 2022. Next to just 5 other podcasts by a.o. PRX, the BBC and Wondery.
Avery writes:

A number of shows challenged what I like and why. None of these should work. They all did. This podcast breaks all my rules. It’s wall to wall music. So much music. I find myself loving the music as much as I love the enriching interviews. The three part series Children Of The Decree, about orphanages in Romania, still haunts me. (There’s this damning insight about American optimism has has actually changed a lot of how I think)

Podcast Millennial History gets shortlisted by the Association for International Broadcasting as ‘best of human interest audio’, next to just 6 other productions by a.o. the BBC, SkyNews & Turtoise Media.

2023 - 2027

Resonate Productions pairs up with Festival van Vlaanderen Mechelen Lunalia for a 5-year long collaboration. Musical journalism will be made with the citizens of Mechelen , based on the themes of the yearly festival. Funded by the Flemish government.

Spring 2022

Podcast Millennial History is launched in partnership with AreWeEurope. Journalist Sara Furxhi reviews: “The narrative and production quality is out of this world. I’m touched, captivated, moved.”

Christian Gesellmann (piqd.de) writes: “I listened to all the episodes in one go. Days afterwards, I was still thinking about certain insights of the interviewees. E.g. the ability of Joanna, to understand her own life and to empathise with everyone who had a part in her story, has deeply impressed me.”

Andrea appears on the popular non-fiction radio-show Interne Keuken , to introduce the podcast to the Flemish audience.

2022 - 2024

Artistic director Andrea Voets is awarded the highly selective Fastforward -grant by the Dutch Fund for the performing arts. Awarded to just one or two performing artists in the Netherlands per year, meant for international collaboration. With the grant, Andrea will carry out research on the question “how to feel safe”, all over the globe, with acclaimed partners like producer Ian Brennan & trauma-researcher Bessel van der Kolk.

The Berliner Festspiele order a piece of analogue musical journalism, based on the works of Bruno Latour. Received with critical acclaim during 10 sold-out performances at the Martin Gropiusbau.

2018 - 2020

Artistic director Andrea Voets receives a New Makers subsidy of the Dutch Performing Arts Fund. The partners are the leading debating-house in the Netherlands De Balie and the artist’s collective Company New Heroes . The subsidy is used for the creation of two new documentary-concerts: Wings & Roots & While We Live (best of classical music 2020, NRC)
